Winslow's Home Restaurant Review:
As with any home, the pace changes throughout the day. Things start with a bang as commuters get their coffee then gradually relax over the course of the morning. Breakfasts are hearty, with lots of whole grains and eggs alongside house-baked scones and muffins. Things pick up again at lunch, when carry-out orders are brisk thanks in part to limited seating at the tables scattered throughout the (somewhat kitschy) general store. Many customers scoop up an armful of goodies from the refrigerated display cases as well, like one of the petite cakes (flavors change each month). Entrées for lunch and dinner center around comfort food, but because Winslow’s Farm in Augusta supplies the kitchen, expect seasonal dishes like panzanella with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers in August or baked trout with spring asparagus and new potatoes in May. Bottles of local microbrews are the dinner drink of choice. Unfortunately, the cozy aura stops at the counter, where the staff taking orders is sometimes distracted and always overworked.
