The Upper East Side has always been a culinary sinkhole of sorts with only a small handful of restaurants standing above the fray. But this Italian eatery is a good bet for standard but quality Italian fare. Peppercorn-crusted tuna sashimi with olive tapenade and ginger mustard sauce, and mussels and clams in a garlic wine broth are among the favorite starters. Pastas include a primavera with cappellini and fusilli Norcia (sweet and hot sausage in a tomato aurora sauce). For something heartier, try the grilled rack of lamb with mashed potatoes and asparagus.
