: Chef Liza Shaw worked at restaurants such as A16 before opening Merigan Sub Shop, where she puts her pedigree to work on East Coast-style sub sandwiches made with meats butchered and cured in-house. The Italian combo is a winner, as is the roasted pork Arista. Vegetarians will find plenty to like with the eggplant Parmesan, or the fried ceci bean fritter sandwich. In fact, there isn’t a dud on the menu, and the seasonal sides and soups don't disappoint. There is a small selection of wine and beer, and the salted chocolate cookie makes for a sweet finish. It’s also worth noting that subs can be ordered to go and taken into nearby AT&T Park (and the shop is open on Sunday game days). A light breakfast menu is also available.
