 Meriwether's Restaurant Review: Meriwether's is located in a historic building on the edge of Northwest Portland’s shopping area. The menu changes dramatically based on what’s fresh and the chef’s inspiration, and much of the produce comes from the restaurant's own nearby farm. You may find Dungeness crab risotto with farm greens alongside a meatball tagine and couscous, or a dish of spot prawns and black rice with red chile mole---surprising but it almost always works. The eclectic nature continues at brunch where the menu offers quiche Lorraine with house-made pancetta, huevos rancheros, and coconut fried chicken and waffles. Desserts often feature seasonal berries. The multi-leveled interior provides a range of settings, making this a fine choice for either a lavish meal or a quick snack and cocktail in the bar; a walled garden patio is also available. Zippy cocktails, a well-rounded wine list and a talented staff round out the experience. |
