Meriwether's Restaurant Review: Meriwether's is located in an historic building that has housed several fine restaurants over the years. The eclectic menu changes dramatically based on what's fresh and the chef's inspirations, with much of the produce coming from its own nearby farm. You may find steelhead trout with preserved lemon butter alongside smoked paprika chicken, and local root vegetable mash paired with duck confit pizza. For a vegetarian entrée, consider the "Greens & Beans." The adventurous spirit continues at brunch with quiche Lorraine with house-made pancetta, huevos rancheros, and coconut-fried chicken and waffles. Desserts often feature seasonal berries. Zippy cocktails and a lengthy wine and beer list round out the experience. The patio has a covered area to shield against rain and a gazebo with a fire pit. For some reason, Meriwether's seems to attract an older, genteel demographic, but it can accommodate a wide variety of tastes and moods. Service is friendly if sometimes haphazard.
