Meriwether's Restaurant Review: Topping the menus at Meriwether's is a listing of all the crops harvested that week at the restaurant's nearby farm. Vegetables can range from Red Sails lettuce to romanesco cauliflower, complemented by local meats and seafood, which all inspire the eclectic fare. Try a treviso salad enlivened by red grapefruit, Castelvetrano olives, buttermilk blue cheese and muesli croutons; a razor clam club sandwich; or creamy cauliflower risotto. Halibut may be paired with cauliflower purée, beluga lentils and squid ink vinaigrette, while roasted chicken is matched with farro, romano beans and pineapple tomatillo. Choose a "pantry board" that does not limit itself to meat and cheese, but includes treats such as Gorgonzola-stuffed dates, lamb ribs, grilled sardines or a roasted beet terrine. This inventive spirit continues at brunch with omelets, Greek pizza, scallop-hazelnut salad, and a quiche Lorraine prepared with house-made pancetta. Desserts can be grilled pineapple rum cake or a lemon cheesecake. The wood-paneled dining room is cozy, but the garden is a knockout. A covered patio shields against rain, while heaters and a fire pit ward off the chill, and flowers, fountains and wrought iron furniture create a relaxed mood. There's a gentility to the place that makes it perfect for a lady's luncheon or a special family meal. Service is friendly if occasionally missing a beat.
