Across the street from Lincoln Center and upstairs from Iridium Jazz Club, Merlot has a far-out design (lots of colors, musical motifs and undulating shapes), a 600-bottle wine cellar and dishes such as wild-mushroom strudel, crab cakes and osso buco of monkfish. Call about special vintners’ dinners and to check on openings since it’s just emerging from being closed for renovation.
