 Whether you’re the corporate chic or jeans and flip flop type, here’s the place to unwind with good food that doesn’t assault the budget. In the heart of the trendy arts and theater district, Mesh has the secret to satisfying varying tastes in an atmosphere that is a little bit casual, a little bit tony, and a whole lot welcoming with its warm browns, hits of orange, local artwork and dining corners that offer privacy. It’s easy to make a meal from the appetizer section that includes wild mushroom strudel and lobster bisque. For the nosh-and-drink crowd, the Cheese and Smears is a must. The serving board comes with an assortment of flatbreads and crostini to hold selections such as cheeses, hard salami, duck rillette and arugula pistachio pesto. The dinner menu includes a tempting selection of sandwiches alongside entrées as good as they are different. The short ribs with sweetened chipotle glaze could be addictive, especially when accompanied with white bean cassoulet and butternut squash. Fortunately, the fish tacos teamed with red cabbage slaw, mango relish and a sweet corn aïoli are available for lunch as well as at the bar.
