It’s all about the setting at this Grand Central restaurant. Charlie Palmer's Métrazur (the name refers to a railway line on the Riviera) is a contemporary Mediterranean restaurant where the décor far outshines the food. The modern fixtures, such as the streamlined black chairs and geometric marble furniture, manage to work brilliantly amid Grand Central's marble-and-gold Beaux-Arts interior. While supping on dishes like tuna tartare in ponzu sauce or chicken with mushroom-and-garlic jus, diners can gaze upward at the star-strewn ceiling and down on the bustle of the station, and be glad that they have nowhere to go.
