| At this delightful Chestnut Street restaurant meze should stand for feast, instead of small plates. The tapas-style menu is a no holds barred experience of Greek cuisine. Rich avgolemono (lemon and egg soup), crisp zucchini fritters, creamy tzatziki (a cucumber yogurt dip) and an ouzo-spiked cream broth teeming with plump mussels have earned a faithful following. The easygoing crowd of neighborhood families, friends and first-dates seem to soak up the familial service and warm atmosphere like sunbathers along the Aegean. Wines from the Greek isles complement the food nicely. |
