Mezes Restaurant Review

: At this Chestnut Street restaurant, the tapas-style menu is a no-holds-barred experience in Greek cuisine. Rich avgolemono (lemon and egg soup), crisp zucchini fritters, tangy soutzoukakia (tomato-sauced meatballs served with orzo), rosy tarama (pink caviar spread), creamy tzatziki (cucumber-yogurt dip) and other Greek must-haves maintain a faithful following. The easygoing crowd of neighborhood families, friends and first dates soak up the familial service and warm atmosphere like sunbathers along the Aegean. Vegan and gluten-free options are marked clearly on the menu, and wines from the Greek Isles are a fitting complement.
