THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mezza Restaurant Review:

Mezza flies largely under the radar but offers quality, low-priced Mediterranean food in the middle of Culver City. The room is quaint with washes of red, gold and yellow. During lunch, many an employee from nearby Sony can be seen nibbling on falafel. Start with the kibbi---a crunchy shell of deep-fried wheat stuffed with moist ground beef, pine nuts and plenty of spices. There are several pita-style sandwiches and roast meats on the menu, but the best option is the gyro plate. Vertically roasted lamb is sliced in long thick pieces, juxtaposing a crispy exterior against a juicy, almost disintegrating interior. Layer the meat in airy pita bread with a large dollop of homemade hummus, spicy hummus or baba ghanouj. Many Lebanese and Greek wines are represented, and are a refreshing accompaniment to the rich food. Desserts include a respectable buttery baklava.
