Why just dine when you can steal half the moon? Sleek and sexy, Mezzaluna sparkles even though it’s tucked away in a not-so-glamorous shopping strip. Start your contemporary Italian adventure downstairs so you won’t miss any of the head-turning bar-and-nosh action. Nibble on fragrant, wood-fired pizzas or luscious cold-water steamed mussels, heady with white wine, lemon and garlic. For the main event, we can’t pass up the house-made signature lasagna with smoked chicken, spinach, ricotta and mozzarella crowned with both marinara and roasted yellow pepper sauces. Other musts: black pepper linguine with shrimp, field greens, and Asiago cheese in buttery white wine sauce; a pistachio-crusted salmon filet daringly doused in vermouth aioli; or lobster-stuffed cannelloni with goat cheese and spinach.
