MFA Café Restaurant Review:

This sophisticated glass-encased café, situated on the ground floor of The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s Beck Building, offers Italian fare created with locally sourced ingredients. Think panini, pizzas and lasagna --- including a vegetarian one --- as well as a European-style coffee bar. Chef Marlies Wasterval also serves up sliders, a flat-iron steak and Dijon-crusted salmon. We particularly enjoy a weekend tour of the artwork followed by brunch at the café, where we nosh on eggs Benedict with Italian ham, a poached egg, avocado and toast, or biscuits and gravy. Do try the BLT panino topped with a fried egg paired with a Prosecco mimosa. Coffees are warm and welcoming, and the spot serves wine and local beers. Among the sweet bites, try the Nutella croissant and then take a few home.
