Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review: Mi Casa is a lively spot in the Newport-Mesa area for classic Mexican-American dishes and margaritas. Groups of guys, couples and families flock here to soak in the festive atmosphere, munch on chips and salsa, and order huge combination plates filled with refried beans and spicy rice. The expected dishes like tacos, enchiladas, chile verde and chile Colorado are offered, as are a few more modern items such as grilled mahi tacos and shrimp enchiladas. Although not open until 11 a.m., Mi Casa still serves up some breakfast specialties like huevos rancheros and chorizo and eggs. Regulars might come in through the bar's back door and sit down for chips and margaritas while they wait for a table, or they may just pop in for a Mexican dessert like the caramel churro sundae.
