This authentic Cuban eatery is an unexpected discovery, where a warm wood-clad interior stands in sharp contrast to a strip center location. Starters range from ham croquetas and fried yucca to papas rellena (deep-fried potato balls stuffed with beef) and Cuban tamales served with garlicky, mojo-marinated pork. Cuban staples like ropa vieja, arroz con pollo, and bistec empanizado (a Milanese-style pounded steak) appear on the extensive menu, which also features a very respectable paella Valenciana. For snacking, there are big Cuban sandwiches and refreshing tropical fruit batidos (shakes). The restaurant also offers a lunch buffet with sandwiches and Cuban dishes during the week.
