This third site, whose flagship restaurant continues to thrive in Old Town Pasadena, boasts views of the Santa Monica Mountains from its location within The Commons, an upscale West Valley shopping plaza. Pasta, risotto and fish specials are featured daily at lunch and dinner, but the traditional antipasti platter remains the starter of choice, showcasing thin-sliced cappacolla, San Danielle prosciutto and fresh mozzarella. A favorite lunch entrée is the grilled Atlantic salmon served over tossed greens with a honey-star anise dressing. Dinner options include veal Milanese, a 14-ounce pounded and breaded paillard served with tomatoes, arugula, baby lettuce and bufala mozzarella. Pasta fans will appreciate the plate of penne tossed with chanterelles, morels, oyster, cremini and shiitake mushrooms.
