Michelangelo Ristorante Restaurant Review: This Silver Lake pizzeria continues to attract a loyal neighborhood clientele. The menu extends far beyond the restaurant’s solid thin-crusted pizza, with a wide range of Italian specialties that frankly stretches the kitchen’s abilities. You might begin with crostini topped with creamy burrata and roasted peppers, an oyster mushroom salad with herb vinaigrette, or crispy ravioli fritti with marinara sauce, before moving on to meatballs with spaghetti and marinara or a respectable but uninspiring porcini risotto. Entrées are also offered, such as a rib-eye steak with roasted garlic, veal Fiorentina, and fresh fish. We recommend, however, sticking to the pizza and simple pasta dishes. Desserts are traditional like cannoli, ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. The intimate dining room is gently illuminated by a pair of unexpectedly ornate chandeliers, with vintage mirrors lining the wall, and the enclosed patio is a pleasant place to tuck into some hearty Italian fare.
