The desserts found at this sweets shop, created to mirror the style of pâtisseries in France, are almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

Miette Restaurant Review

: If there was ever a Candyland for adults, Miette is it. The sweets shop, created to mirror the style of pâtisseries found in France, offers sophisticated cookies and confections, such as fleur de sel caramels, French macaroons and a bevy of vintage candies. But it is owner Megan Ray’s minimalist approach to cakes and cupcakes that has elevated the bakery into the realm of the elite. Offering a more sculpted take on desserts, cakes such as the Chocolate Tomboy features three perfect discs of moist double chocolate cake, with restrained layers of buttercream in between. But that’s where the frosting ends. Rather than slather the cakes entirely in rich frosting, Ray prefers to use it sparingly so as to not overpower each one’s delicate balance of flavors. Nearly every flavor is available in cake or cupcake format.
