Mike's American Grill Restaurant Review

: Always crowded no matter when you come, all-brick Mike's is the epitome of the casual American eatery where mighty portions rule. You can choose to pass the time in the lively downstairs bar, but if you want to eat seriously, you'll be escorted to an upstairs table. If you're lucky, you'll secure a table near the kitchen where you can get a close-up of the cooks at work. We recommend the Tex-Mex egg rolls or the eight-layer dip and chips as starters. The bacon-cheddar burger is a must; the steaks are good, too. Other homey foods include meatloaf and mashed potatoes or grilled pork chops and the deep-dish apple and blackberry pie.

Mike's is Great American's Biggest Hit!

This is my wife and my favorite of the GAR bunch, second only to Artie's in Fairfax... Since starting with Fritzbe's, now Silverado in 1974, Great American Restaurants, which is comprised of 1) Artie's, 2) Best Buns Bread Company, 3) Carlyle Grand Cafe, 4) Coastal Flats, 5) Jackson's Mighty Fine Food & Lucky Lounge, 6) Mike's American Grill, 7) Ozzie's Corner Italian, 8) Silverado, and 9) Sweetwater Tavern, have been serving up some of the best eats, satisfying service, incredible All-American variety, and great experiences from spirits, starters, meals and desserts in Northern Virginia. This is not by any means a commercial, but a patron's tribute to what has become 9 fantastic Northern Virginia dining destinations - an achievement few local restaurant chains can brag about. We have yet to try anything on the menu that is unsatisfactory. Their burgers and steaks are A-1 (no pun intended), steaks are delish and cooked how you want them, the sides are great, and the bartenders know their stuff – not to mention, impeccable service. My all-time favorite is their 'spinach & artichoke dip'! I am sure you'll find something to your liking at any of their locations, but best here, as I have. Bon appétit!
