Milan’s is an unpretentious, comfortable ski-town restaurant that’s been popular for 20 years with tourists and locals alike. Civilized white tablecloth dining, good service, and dependably delicious dinners at reasonable prices keep us coming back. It’s also a restaurant where you can actually have a conversation without having to shout above the din. Photographs of local mountains and a lively bar full of locals give Milan’s an authentic ski resort feel. The bar menu is a real deal with pasta and salad for $12 and pork schnitzel or pepper steak for $9. Fresh seafood and game specials are available in the main restaurant. Chef Rich Walbert’s roast loin of elk served with wild mushrooms and lingonberry vinegar demi-glaze is renowned, as is his yellowfin tuna seared with black and white sesame seeds and served on a ginger-hoisin-orange cream sauce. For an appetizer look to the coconut prawns or duck confit spring rolls, and dip into the melting chocolate dacquoise for dessert.
