THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Minotaure Restaurant Review:
Cozy Minotaure in Playa del Rey is a relatively undiscovered gem. With its white linen-topped tables, Picasso prints and crimson-colored bar, it is an attractive slice of Spain, especially on weekends when seductive live flamenco guitar enhances the scene. A long roster of traditional tapas includes Galician paprika-dusted octopus sautéed with lots of garlic, shallots and olive oil, classic tortilla española, and a daily-changing croqueta offering. Several versions of paella make for satisfying main courses, and one is wise to finish with bread pudding drizzled in port-caramel sauce. The moderately priced wine list features a broad selection of Spanish wines, as well as a smattering of new-world labels, and about two dozen are offered by the glass for those who aren’t tempted by the house’s sangría.
