THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mintwood Place Restaurant Review:

Mintwood Place touts a French-American-Italian menu masterminded by French chef Cedric Maupillier. Formerly overseeing the kitchen of Central Michel Richard, Maupillier has flexed his culinary muscles by creating a cluster of dishes that are very distinctive. For example: hush puppies are actually battered and fried escargots; an appetizer of crispy-fried kale served with Italy’s luscious burrata; suckling pig croquettes enriched with a mole sauce --- all blending quirky and exotic. As for sweet endings to your meal, the Key lime pie with its speculoos (shortbread) crust and a pomegranate accent wins our kudos. But if you like showy goods, order the baked Alaska, flamed right before your eyes at the table. There’s also plenty to whet your whistle, like the specialty cocktail called the Marilyn Monroe with hibiscus-infused vodka. A mix of French, Italian and California labels is featured on the extensive wine list. The décor should remind patrons of a bar-restaurant that’s a little Southern and a bit French as well. And the kitchen, small as it is, is packed with hard-working sous chefs and prep cooks.
