THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mirabelle Restaurant Review: Mirabelle has a colourful, glamorous history which Marco Pierre White lovingly restored in the late 1990s. Here, haute cuisine is presented in Art Deco surroundings, restoring this distinguished society venue to central stage. An elegant bar gives way to a dining room with trompe l'oeil paintings, tasselled lights, opulent flower arrangements and crisply set tables, which together with attentive service makes for pleasurable special occasion dining. The menu offers refined classics. Starters showcase a signature tarte Tatin of scallops and endives, and the terrine of foie gras en gelée with peppercorns. Mains go from simple grilled lobster with herbs and garlic and a béarnaise sauce to roast duck à l’orange. Desserts are equally memorable. The set lunch is an absolute steal. At dinner the temptation of some stratospheric bottles from a topnotch wine list can make for an extravagant evening. Set 2-course lunch £19.50, 3 courses £23. Sunday lunch 3 courses £24.
