THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mirage Kitchen Restaurant Review

: In the space on Grove Street and Seventh Avenue that housed Mercadito Grove for years is Mirage Kitchen. Tortillas have been replaced by pita, and salsa by creamy hummus. The cuisine is technically Syrian but any fan of Middle Eastern cooking will recognize falafel and shwarma. The shwarma sandwiches --- choose between za’atar-rubbed chicken and a lamb-beef blend --- are satisfying enough. Baba ghanouj has the nice touch of pomegranates sprinkled atop. Chickpea fries can sometimes come out on the flaccid side.
