This Afghan eatery appeals to regulars who want to tackle the cuisine’s dumplings, fried potatoes, kebabs and sautéed vegetables. The setting is rather dark and unglamorous---its most outstanding feature is the mural of an Afghan village. The best bets here are the thick, tangy yogurt, the first-rate breads, the sautéed pumpkin and firnee, a cornstarch pudding that’s a soothing comfort sweet. We’ve found other dishes, even the kebabs, inconsistent in flavor.
