THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mirchi Restaurant Review

: THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Nouveau Indian fare for generation Y is served at this Village favorite. Most of the dishes are par-for-the-course, but some are a surprise. The creatively spiced jaipuri lal maas (lamb in 30 chilies) and changeze champe (tender lamb chops marinated in yogurt) are both topnotch. Dinner is on the pricey side for Village Indian, but lunch options are reasonable---under $15 for a full meal including naan. The wine list, with its various by-the-glass offerings from Australia and South Africa, is impressive, but if we want to drink to excess, specialty martinis would be the way to go. The Sassy Lassi, made of Mango Lassi, banana liqueur and Stoli Vanil, is dangerously delightful.
