THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Miss Diane's Boarding House Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Taking the quaint, homespun concept of a B&B one step further, Miss Diane's Boarding House Restaurant (formerly Florida House Restaurant), the dining room of Florida's oldest hotel, serves grandma's home cooking boarding house-style in heaping bowls that you pass around the table. And like grandma's kitchen, nobody is a stranger. Groups smaller than 12 will be seated with other guests at large wooden tables. There is no set menu. Rather, Southern-style dishes vary daily, but will include collards, field peas, fried chicken, ham, gizzards and desserts like banana pudding and apple crumble. Located downtown, the restaurant is within walking distance of Main Street, but let your lunch settle first by rocking away a Florida afternoon in one of the quilt-cushioned wicker rockers on the porch.
