Mole Restaurant Review:

When the menu for cocktails, tequilas and mezcals is almost as long as the menu for food, there's sure to be an ongoing fiesta. With a tile-covered bar, lively neighborhood din and attentive service, Mole encourages experimentation in savory fare and beverage. Dishes cover the requisite bases of tacos, burritos, flautas and the like, and are inventive in each category and display the regional, culinary diversity of Mexico. Standard hard-shelled tacos are offered alongside creative blue corn “taco taco” tacos filled with chipotle-braised pork and served with table-made guacamole and charred beans. Two other pork selections, the carnitas from Michoacán and the cochinita pibil from the Yucatan, are equally tender and flavorful. The restaurant’s signature “imported” mole sauce finds its way onto chicken and chicken enchiladas. Outdoor seating in warmer months is the place to be seen.
