Molly Pitcher Inn Restaurant Review: The dining room is elegant and formal with red tufted chairs and white linens, sparkling crystal chandeliers and a panoramic view of the Navesink River. While filet mignon and veal, chicken and pasta are on the menu, it is the sophisticated fish preparations that beckon and capture the eye. Duck prosciutto-wrapped striped bass is served with shaved yellow and green squash punctuated with unique pickled blackberry, and zucchini shallot purée. Another delight is the pan-seared branzino filet with Swiss chard, delicate baby grape tomatoes, fingerling potatoes and a lively accent from sopressata gremolata. French and California varietals dominate the good wine list. Desserts are unimpressive with selections such as chocolate volcano cake and bread pudding. Formal service can be a bit rushed. Sunday brunch is very popular.
