Momed Restaurant Review: This bright and modern Mediterranean café, marketplace and wine bar bustles with a casual Beverly Hills crowd. Order at the counter and relax indoors amid sleek modern décor or on the lively sidewalk patio and discover interesting boutique wines and craft beers from Greece, Israel, Morocco or France. Don’t expect plates from the typical local kebab joint---executive chef Matthew Carpenter has put in time at the kitchens of Josie and Bastide. We recommend the duck shwarma, nestled in house-made pita with Black Mission fig confit, garlic aïoli and oven-dried tomatoes. Classic mezze like hummus and baba ghanouj reach an apex here, but don’t miss the baleela, warm chickpeas and pine nuts in melted brown butter with preserved lemon. Breakfasts from the wood oven include organic egg dishes and house-made merguez sausage. Lunch and dinner items range from pide, traditional Turkish flatbreads, to a lamburger with crispy shallots and a house-cured albacore salad. Dinner specials also change seasonally. Note that full waitstaff table service generally begins after 3 p.m.
