Moments Restaurant Review

: Housed in the Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, Moments is illuminated by gilded ceilings, warm amber tones and moody lighting. Overseen by noted chef Carme Ruscalleda and her son, chef Raül Balam, the culinary team creates precision dishes that are both delicate and flavour-packed, while staying true to their roots and celebrating the formidable heritage and gastronomic culture of Catalonia. Delve into the à la carte menu with stuffed pigeon with Iberian pork, grape and sakura leaves, and sea bass, fennel, soy and wasabi caviar. Or explore the veritable feast that is the set tasting menu, which includes the likes of Galician scallop in juvert sauce, beetroot and Duroc jowls; sea water cannelloni, seasonal vegetables and smoked eel; and turbot with lemon, saffron and black garlic. Sommelier Fernando Pavón is on hand to create personalized wine pairing menus, further enhancing the dining experience. Sweet sensations include the “Almond Kiss,” almond foam and seawater ice cream; “Nacre” with coconut, spiced vanilla and fruit; and the smoked truffle ice cream with black chocolate ganache and white chocolate.
