Mon Ami Gabi Restaurant Review

: Gabino Sotelino's Mon Ami Gabi borrows the name and style of the Chicago eatery that's a key link in Richard Melman's innovative Lettuce Entertain You chain. We like the authentic European bistro look, and outdoor dining overlooking the Strip. What to eat? Everything from quiche, crêpes, omelets and the croque monsieur for lunch and the à la carte weekend brunch (the cheeseburger with Brie, blue or Gruyère is also a lunch favorite) to seafood to steak --- and anything that's served with crisp, skinny french fries. Served for lunch and dinner are oysters du jour with shallot-black pepper mignonette and fresh horseradish; and butter lettuce and arugula salad with warm chickpea croutons and Grana Padano. Among other dinner appetizers is escargot de Bourgogne. We also enjoy the sea scallops gratinées, mussels marinière, steak Roquefort and the desserts, especially the bananas Foster crêpe with vanilla ice cream and the flourless chocolate cake with chocolate sauce. The extensive wine list nicely complements the cuisine.

had one of the worst filets I have ever had.....very dry...supposed to have been prepared medium rare, was closer to medium.

I also ordered the apple tart for dessert. The first one came slightly chilled. I sent it back. The next one was obviously heated in a microwave. One side was cool, the other burned my mouth. I barely touched it. The waiter seemed disinterested.
