THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Montmartre Restaurant Review:

Restaurateur Gabe Stulman, whose West Village mini-empire is a force to be reckoned with, has ventured north for his Montmartre with chef Michael Toscano (chef at Perla and formerly at Babbo). The wine list, which is entirely French, is appropriate for the bistro-style menu: Sancerre with escargots, Bordeaux with the coq au vin for two. Start with a few spreads, chicken liver mousse or whipped blue fish, served in little jars and paired with toasts. Order the steak frites and you can choose between shoulder and rib-eye, though you may want to eschew red meat altogether for the pork chop cassoulet served with cannellini beans, kale and minced duck sausage. Baba au rhum is an appropriate finish, with red wine-braised figs and Chantilly crème. Also noteworthy: this place has one of the best backyard gardens in all of Manhattan that opens during the warmer months.
