Montparnasse 1900 Restaurant Review:
First opened in 1858, this Belle Époque brasserie has gone through several incarnations over the years. Originally the Bouillon Chartier, it went on to become the Bouillon Rougeot, the Bistro de la Gare, and the Bistro Romain. Despite the many name changes, Montparnasse 1900 has preserved its historic interior. Under current owners the Joulie Group, the restaurant’s façade has been completely renovated and the imposing glass roof restored to its former glory. The stunning dining room is dominated by ornate Art Nouveau mirrors and an elaborate wooden balustrade. The menu features traditional brasserie fare such as French onion soup, foie gras and escargots. For the main course, choose from the house specialties, which include calf’s liver, shoulder of lamb, Châteaubriand and veal blanquette. Don’t miss out on the €35 Belle Époque Menu.
