MoonFish Restaurant Review: Along busy Sand Lake Road’s Restaurant Row, MoonFish packs in diners looking for fresh seafood and a sushi bar (two dozen-plus kinds of raw fish). Wood floors and warm colors give the place an earthy vibe, with glass art and bright aquariums for an under-the-sea ambience and a 1,200-degree Florida citrus and oak wood fire grill. The emphasis is on lobster, crab and shrimp, but there’s also a daily selection of 12 to 15 types of fresh fish, from Florida grouper to cod and swordfish. Start off with crackling five spice calamari, mussels in a Thai red coconut curry, or the yellowfin tuna tartare tacos. Or make a hearty meal with grilled salmon or trout. If you are eating in a group, share the Seafood Tower, a colossal dish layered with Florida stone crab claws, giant shrimp cocktail, jumbo lump crab cocktail and Alaskan king crab legs. If you’re not in the mood for fish, choose from a 24-ounce Prime rib-eye steak, Hawaiian-style chicken breast and a filet mignon, among other non-seafood options.
