If you’re a devotee of Moreno’s on 18th Street in NYC, you’ll feel right at home at its suburban brother---that is, if you can find it. A good restaurant serving well-prepared northern Italian food, it’s unfortunately housed in an all-but impossible location less than 500 feet from US Rt. 1. A suggestion. Start at the Greenwich Library and go 7/10 of a mile toward the NY border. Just before the Shell station, turn right. Go to the bottom of the hill and turn left. The restaurant will be on your right, in an attractive old stone house. Once there, you’ll be in for a visual as well as taste treat with such Milanese specialties as filet of sole with creamy Pinot Grigio sauce, tender veal cutlets in assorted mushroom sauce, and pan roasted lamb chops seasoned Italian style as well as sundry pasta dishes.
