Morton's The Steakhouse Restaurant Review: The Morton's chain is all about quality steaks, salads and sides with a couple of seafood items thrown into the mix. The originator of the show-and-tell tableside menu, Morton's lays it on thick. But it's a good kind of thick, and it's a fine place for good food and an enjoyable time. It also has one of the best happy hours in Cincinnati: beer, wine and spirits starting at $5 and "bar bites" go for $6 a plate. "Power Hour" draws the downtown after-work suits; many people make a meal of appetizers like mini burgers and filet mignon sandwiches. If you do sit down, order the chopped salad---it's a meal on its own. For meat and potato fans, we favor the bone-in rib-eye, strip steak au poivre, and Lyonnaise potatoes. The sides are served à la carte, and they're large enough to share. There's nothing like a rich piece of cheesecake or Morton's hot chocolate cake to wrap up a steakhouse dinner. |
