The Morton's chain is all about quality steaks, salads and sides with a couple of seafood items thrown in. The originator of the show-and-tell tableside menu, Morton's lays it on thick. But it's a good thick, and it's a fine place for good food and a good time in a clubby atmosphere. After a liquid cocktail---preferably a fine martini---dive into a shrimp or jumbo (a word frequently appearing on the menu) lump crab meat cocktail to start. The signature chopped salad is huge. Meat and potato fans favor the bone-in rib-eye or the strip steak au poivre, and the lyonnaise potatoes. The sides are à la carte and large enough to share. For dessert, try a lush and rich piece of cheesecake or Morton's hot chocolate cake---a nice cap to a steakhouse dinner. A diverse wine list spans the globe, with choices in a variety of price ranges.
