Morton’s steaks are even bigger than its reputation as watering holes for political bigwigs or a spot where Monica Lewinsky dined with her attorney. The real reason to come is for one of the aged, top-quality porterhouses, available in one-and-a-half- or three-pound cuts. To avoid ruining your appetite, go easy on the starters---perhaps a house salad or a plate of sliced beefsteak tomatoes with red onion and blue cheese. As a side, one of the football-sized baked potatoes does nicely. The service is excellent, as is the wine list, and, if you are not in the mood for beef, you can secure a good chop or a fresh piece of salmon. Also located at 3251 Prospect St. NW, Washington, DC 202-342-6258; and 8075 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA, 703-883-0800.
