Motor City Brewing Works Restaurant Review:

Flagship beers at this brewing company include Motor City Ghettoblaster, Honey Porter and Nut Brown Ale as well as seasonal releases, such as the thick, rich and dark Motor City Corktown Stout. There's also the Heritage series --- Greenfield Village Steam Station beer is brewed using authentic, nineteenth-century lager yeast fermented without refrigeration to produce a malty, clear beer with tones of woods and mint. Meanwhile, the Muscle Series lives up to its name with Old Gear Oil and Motor City Ale. MCBW caffeine-free sodas, made with cane sugar and served in the Tap Room, include grape, orange cream, black cherry and Rock ‘N Rye strawberry. Hard ciders are made from local fruits and such yeasts as French Champagne and English cider. The restaurant has a brick wood-burning oven that produces a variety of pizzas, such as a roasted pear and fig pie topped with olive oil, Gorgonzola and red onions. However, you can also build your own. Chili, cheese plates and seasonal salads are available, too. There are four house wines on the menu as well as elixirs like peach wine fermented with ginger and grape neutral brandy. Wednesdays are for "This Week in Art," a rotating art show featuring works by a different local artist every week.
