This eclectic, sophisticated east side eatery offers contemporary American cuisine amongst pristine, white-clothed tables. The menu is small but powerful and underscores executive chef Jonathan Bennett’s focus on quality, local ingredients and artsy plating. Traditional American proteins like beef and fish undergo an imaginative transformation, like the fresh-from-the-stream rainbow trout with earthy parsnip ravioli and a rich sage-pecan cream sauce. We also recommend the crisp duck confit and the B&E chicken with butternut bread pudding. For those who crave something a little more familiar, try the Moxie burger---it’s a house favorite for a reason. Moxie’s dessert menu includes a modern tweak on a kid-favorite, the Nutter Butter. Pastry chef Kate O’Donnell’s version combines milk chocolate peanut butter fudge with caramelized Rice Krispies and a marshmallow “fluff.” It's fun and luxe---much like the restaurant itself.
