 The Italian-beef sandwich is one of the best in the city; there's a spicy, tantalizing sweetness to the meat that is incomparable. And it’s not just regular folk who noticed: Jay Leno and Jerry Springer are among its devotees. These sandwiches are loaded with a heavy hand into a soft-inside, crispy-outside roll, and the peppers (sweet or hot) are piled on top and served wet or dry; it's a fine piece of work, this beauty-and-the-beef sandwich.
