Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous Restaurant Review:

The menu for this charming, bright shop located in San Francisco’s hipster Dogpatch neighborhood reads more like that of a cocktail lounge than an ice cream parlor. The boozy Old-Fashioned ice cream is studded with cherries soaked in Maker’s Mark bourbon. The Pink Squirrel combines crème de cacao and Crème de Noyaux (an almond flavored liqueur made from apricot kernels). The Ballpark features ice cream infused with Anchor Steam porter, peanuts and chunks of chocolate-covered pretzels. An under-21 set menu includes standards such as vanilla and chocolate chip. Tres Leches ice cream incorporates sweet milk cake baked at the shop, and the Black Forest features hunks of chocolate cake loaded with Kir-soaked cherries. More outrageous combinations include a coconut milk and basil blend that results in an ice cream not unlike tom ka gai, the popular Thai soup.
