THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mulholland Grill Restaurant Review:

This spot once housed Shane Hidden on the Glen, and it’s indeed hard to find, tucked away in the back corner of a chic mini-mall at the apex of Beverly Glen Canyon. The cute neighborhood eatery centers on a wood-fired oven (with mosaic tiles designed years ago by Barbara Lazaroff), which turns out puffy bread and designer pizzas. Skip the weak grilled vegetable salad and order the carpaccio. Start with grilled jumbo scallops sliced over arugula, bacon bits and lemon-orange dressing; or oven-roasted duck with grilled polenta, porcini mushrooms and crispy carrots. Interesting pasta dishes include spaghetti with grated bottarga and scented white truffle oil or risotto with porcini mushrooms, Parmesan, tomato purée and veal glaze. Seared sushi-grade ahi comes crusted with cayenne and black pepper, grilled filet mignon is topped with porcini mushrooms and rack of lamb is sautéed with a red wine-balsamic sauce. The house wine is just fine, as are the prices. For dessert, save room for the caramelized banana tart.
