He has crafted visually appealing --- and frequently memorable --- plates like chicken in a Jamaican-style curry and vibrant, grilled shrimp with fresh romeritos, shallots, asparagus, roasted red peppers and bacon-Swiss chard fried rice. From Mexican-style paella, cowboy steak with macaroni strudel or pan-seared char with lump crab-potato mash and pepper escabeche, there’s plenty to contemplate (and enough to excite). The setting walks the line between being approachable and fine, though the vibe is always come-as-you-are.
