You don't have to pay your way into the Santa Barbara Museum of Art to get a bite at this pleasant spot right on State Street, adjoining the museum and gift shop. Zal Smith, former executive pastry chef at the Four Seasons Biltmore, and Todd Leslie have taken over the café and trotted out an array of inexpensive soups, salads, sandwiches, quiche, grilled shrimp and chicken.
