Tucked into a corner of Bally’s 6th floor restaurant plaza is the diminutive but sleek Nanking, offering a pan-Asian menu, a smart list of craft cocktails, and a creative inclination to serve modern, vibrant and colorful dishes packed with flavor. Thai is the most prominent cuisine, but there are popular options from China (don’t pass up the Peking duck rolls with a peppery and slightly sweet ginger-pineapple sauce) and India ("memorable" best describes golden paneer, a mild cheese tossed with fiery jalapeños, onions, bell peppers and soy sauce). A specialty of the house is the Young Coconut --- it comes to the table as a hollowed out fresh coconut stuffed with jumbo shrimp and white rice in a mild and sweet coconut milk sauce. There are copious noodle and rice selections as well as dim sum and a variety of appealing soups, stir-fries and curries. Service is attentive; although the kitchen can be slow --- but patience, please. You will be rewarded.
