 Napa & Company Restaurant Review: Napa & Company offers all the quiet elegance of California wine country in Stamford, combining an international wine list with a menu composed with local, organic and free-range ingredients. The restaurant is tastefully appointed, from its wine room to its dining area, with its sleek mahogany tables and crystal glasses. We suggest starting with a flight of French and Spanish rosés, or a glass of Napa & Company’s own sparkling wine, and one of the wine bites, such as roasted calamari with mixed greens. Veal, pork and ricotta meatballs are accompanied by mustard greens, while fried potato gnocchi pair with truffle oil and Parmesan. Move on to entrées such as the roasted heirloom chicken with corn truffle purée, wild mushrooms and spring peas in au jus, or perhaps pan-roasted halibut with roasted artichokes and maitake mushrooms in a truffle vinaigrette. Abide by the restaurant’s recommendations and pair the former with a glass of 2011 Garnet Pinot Noir from Monterey, and the halibut with the 2011 Mazzoni Vermentino Chardonnay from Tuscany. |
