Natsumi Tapas Restaurant Review:

Primarily a Japanese sushi restaurant with a humongous menu, Natsumi Tapas also infuses Italian flavors into its offerings and serves straight-up Italian dishes as well. If you like experimenting with cuisine mash-ups or can really never make up your mind when it comes time to order, the small plates lineup lets your taste bud creativity go wild. Start with hamachi carpaccio with balsamic vinegar followed by meatballs with basil pesto teriyaki, spicy scallion marinara or Parmesan cream sauce, and a doppio (salmon and yellowtail) toro maki with Italian-inflected basil pesto. Catch the drift? Chefs Barbara Matsumura and Haru Konagaya punch up the theme, too, with shrimp fettuccine, yuzu tobiko and Alfredo sauce and the salmon pepperoncini roll. If you’re more of a purist, stick to one or the other of the nationalities. A wide array of sakés, shochu and creative cocktails complements international wine selections.
