Nau's Enfield Drug Restaurant Review: Looking for a neighborhood diner of yore? This soda fountain shop tucked in the back of a drugstore is about as old-fashioned as it gets. Expect American comfort food, but not comfortable seating, with wooden pew-like booths and short swivel stools under a cramped soda bar. Nostalgia nuts will appreciate the vintage Hamilton Beach mixers on display, and more important, the hearty malts and thick shakes they produce lickety-split from cold whole milk and rich Blue Bell ice cream. We suggest the bacon-wrapped cheeseburgers, freshly prepped with a charred and tender patty, a buttery grilled bun and crunchy bacon strips. Get your retro-requirements refilled, from satisfying, simple breakfast plates or breakfast tacos, and grilled cheese sandwiches with potato chips (no deep fryer equals no fries). |
