Nectar Wine Lounge, San Francisco, CA

Nectar Wine Lounge Restaurant Review

: The three young sommelier-owners of this Marina gem are out to teach patrons the wonders of wine in a fun, laid-back manner. The ambience is as unpretentious as the attitude, providing an inviting space to relax and taste a myriad of interesting wines, while people-gazing out the floor-to-ceiling windows facing the area’s restaurant row. If art is more your thing, check out the changing installations displayed on the cream-colored, candlelit walls. The menu of nibbles, bites and sweets runs the gamut from ahi tartare to truffled mac ‘n’ cheese to butterscotch pot de crème. Suggested "nectars" are listed below each item, or diners can peruse the approximately 300-selection bottle list to find a choice of their own. Flights have un-stodgy names, like the “anything but chard flight.” Patrons can also design their own flight. Wines by the glass are available in 3-oz. or 6-oz. pours.
