THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Neros Restaurant Review:
While so many steakhouses go for clubby tradition, Neros strikes an elegant contemporary note with its octagonal copper-baffled ceiling, from which hangs a graceful chandelier casting subdued light. Among imaginative appetizers, we like the seared foie gras with spiced apples, pecans, maple syrup and toasted brioche; and the Maryland crab cakes with roasted red pepper rémoulade. Maine lobster bisque with fresh tarragon cream is a favorite, as are the mixed field greens with shaved celery, purple haze goat cheese and hazelnut vinaigrette. The steamed or roasted two-pound lobster and the European Dover sole meunière are winners. So is the salmon with sunchoke espuma, roasted romanesco salsify, lemon and hazelnuts. Among steaks dry-aged for 30 days are the 26-ounce bone-in rib-eye and the 28-ounce T-bone. Wines by the glass from around the world enhance the appealing cuisine. Save room for the chocolate napoleon with a dark chocolate and vanilla cremieux, crispy praline and chocolate rum sauce.
